If there is one teeny tiny silver lining in the 2020 holiday season, it’s that we do not have to wrestle with hordes of shoppers to get good Black Friday toy deals for our children this year. Most of us will instead be filling Santa’s sack from the comfort of our glowing screens. What’s even better news: This year’s Black Friday-Cyber Monday toy deals are looking very good.
We hope those kids have been little angels this year (or are very susceptible to bribery?), because you’re going to have a hard time resisting the toy deals we’ve found so far. Retailers big and small are offering discounts of 30 percent or more off of popular toys. Some of these discounts are so steep that you may be tempted to buy toys and stash them away for future birthday presents.
While it’s nowhere near as overwhelming as, say, an actual Walmart on a pre-pandemic Black Friday, we get that you are probably being flooded with information about holiday sales this week. To make things a little easier, we’ve picked out a few key items from our favorite toy brands and favorite stores. We thought we’d give you a bit of variety in this list: There are simple toys for toddlers, choices from tried and true brands like Hot Wheels and LEGO, inexpensive stocking stuffers, trendy video games, old-fashioned dolls, and motorized ride-on toys.
But if these particular toys are not what you’re looking for, you can still click on through to find more from those retailers. The usual suspects — Amazon, Walmart, Target, and Best Buy — are of course offering great deals for Black Friday. But don’t miss out on the more unique items you can find at smaller toy specialists like Maisonette. You can also shop directly on the sites of brands such as Crayola and animal figurine specialists Schleich.
We do miss the days when we could browse the shelves of our local toy stores, of course. And we definitely hope you have a way to shop local this holiday season, whether it’s on Black Friday or beyond. We like to attempt a balance of all sources — making things better for our wallets, safer, and so much easier.
Our mission at SheKnows is to empower and inspire women, and we only feature products we think you’ll love as much as we do. Please note that if you purchase something by clicking on a link within this story, we may receive a small commission of the sale.
It’s time to hide your screen from your kids and get started on that Black Friday toy shopping!
Amazon’s Kid Trax Ride-Ons
Grownups may be disappointed to find we exceed the weight limit for these tiny Vespa scooters from Kid Trax. But your 3-to-5-year-old can be the cool one, zipping around (at 2 mph) on this or one of the other Kid Trax ride-on toys that are discounted by 30 percent on Amazon from November 26-30.
Maisonette’s Very Kind Dolls
The online children’s clothing and toy store is offering up to 30 percent off its gorgeous, Pinterest-worthy merchandise throughout Cyber Week. The Doll Kind dolls come with tokens that encourage children to spread kindness, gratitude, and love.
Kohl’s LEGO Sets
There are discounts on LEGO sets at many retailers this week, but it’s going to be hard to beat Kohl’s 30 percent discount from already reasonably priced sets, like this fire-breathing dragon.
Disney & Pixar at JC Penney
We wouldn’t think to buy toys online from JC Penney, but the department store is offering up to 50 percent off all Disney and Pixar toys, and an extra 30 percent off with the code CHEERFUL.
FAO Schwartz Toys at Macy’s
Your children may not know about that famous scene in Big, but they’ll enjoy dancing on this giant floor piano anyway. All FAO Schwarz and Discovery toys are 60 percent off at Macy’s until November 28.
Walmart’s Pretend Play Sets
There are basically too many Walmart toys deals for us to list here — but we’re drawn to this KidKraft Kitchen, which is available for almost half off its regular price.
Crayola’s ‘Color Friday’
As opposed to Black Friday — get it? — Color Friday features discounts of 60 percent off of toys on Crayola.com. The discount is 40 percent on Color Weekend, and on Cyber Monday, it’s 25 percent off with the code CYBERMONDAY. Scribble Scrubbie toys like this one invite kids to color (with special markers) on their new pets, then wash them off in a special tub before decorating them all over again.
The Dough Project’s DIY Sculpting Fun
Buy some jars of this colorful, all-natural Play-Doh alternative, or get a kit and enjoy the extra fun of mixing it up with your kids. From November 25-December 30, everything on the site is 30 percent off with free shipping for purchases over $50 with the code Thanks30.
Schleich’s Miniature Animal World
The German company famous for its realistic plastic animal figures is offering up to 75 percent off select toys and up to 60 percent off playsets. The horse girls and boys in your life can live out their horse club fantasies with this “secret” caravan.
Best Buy’s Video Games
Sorry, the newest game consoles are still full price, but Black Friday is a great time to buy new games for the consoles you already have. Nintento Switch games are $29.99-$39.99.
Target’s Best Parking Options
Among Target’s many great deals (around 30 percent off many popular toys), the 40 percent discount off this elaborate Hot Wheels garage is going to make some car-loving children very happy. It also reminds us once more why we’re happy to shop for toys online this year.
