All the Best Photos of Mother-Daughter Models On Fashion Week Runways & in the Front Row

by

It seems like every model from the 1980s and 1990s now has a daughter rocking the runway during New York Fashion Week. From Cindy Crawford’s daughter, Kaia Gerber, to Heidi Klum and her daughter Leni, these are the next generation of major fashion names —  and sometimes mother and daughter get the opportunity to rock the runway together at the same show.

The supermodels aren’t forcing their daughters into the spotlight, they’re cautiously been introducing them to the fashion industry one show at a time — never giving them too much, too soon. Crawford was a hands-on mom when Gerber started modeling, but she made sure to teach her the ropes. “One of the things that I did and Kaia certainly has done… is, when you go to work with a photographer or designer, it is like, do your homework,” the supermodel explained to Vogue. “I want to have a language. By the time Kaia has started in the fashion industry, she was pretty well versed.” And we would have loved to have been a fly on the wall when the duo walked the Spring 2018 Versace show together — what kind of research did they do?

And even if mom hasn’t modeled in a long time, they can somehow be coaxed back onto the runway if their daughters are involved (we are looking at you, Lisa Rinna). Retired or not, these moms all cut a fantastic figure during Fashion Week, so we think it should be a trend for designers to have more mother-daughter duos on that catwalk. Don’t miss these amazing runway and front-row photos — and be sure to check out the cutest picture with Kimora Lee Simmons and her daughters when they were itty bitty.
