Remember when pregnant women were largely expected to wear dowdy maternity clothes and pretty much hide their bodies until after they gave birth? That definitely still happens, unfortunately. But at least these days, enough people (and media) have come around to support the beauty and freedom of pregnancy that we can find many proud preggos flaunting their new shapes in glorious photo shoots.
And one South Florida artist is taking pregnancy shoots to the next level: underwater photography. Adam Opris takes pictures of moms-to-be as they float weightlessly in water.
Opris clearly has a knack for this specific setting, and the photos are nothing less than breathtaking. Check out the results for yourself. (Don’t worry, no parents or babies were at any risk during these shoots.)

Just floating
So much to love here.
Parents-to-be
Not sure about the underwater button-down and tie, but OK.
With baby too
There’s no rule that the only babies in maternity shoots are the not-yet-born ones.
Underwater in darkness
A literal pregnancy glow.
Did someone say Greek goddess?
Oh right. That was me. I said it.
Limitless possibilities
Who needs gravity anyway?
Underwater camel pose…
…in heels.
All dressed up
This one wins the award for Best Costume.
So graceful
Her, the fabric, everything.
Belly love
Whoever said you can’t host a private underwater disco for your maternity shoot?
Coming up for air
This one could be a bust in a museum.
The whole family
Can you even?
Better than any above-ground backdrop
Can we get that water pattern on wallpaper, please?
Safe from the rain
And the bikini and umbrella even match.
Like a mermaid
Can we be part of your world?
Welcome to the world
And welcome to the pool.
Pretty in pink
It is the millennial color, after all.
Mission: Possible
That is an action-movie mama right there.
