The Kardashian and Jenner families are basically the poster children for cosmetic procedures and plastic surgeries. A huge part of the media personalities’ allure — for better or worse — is the outrageous beauty standards they’ve set for young people. I mean, people’s body image didn’t stand a chance after Kim Kardashian’s cosmetically-enhanced booty broke the internet.
In a new trailer for The Kardashians season 3 — which drops on Hulu on May 25 — it seems as though Kylie Jenner is trying to get the family to open up about their procedures and the impact they’ve had.
“All of us just need to have a bigger conversation about the beauty standards that we’re setting,” she said. “I wish I never touched anything to begin with.”
This seems to have been on Kylie’s mind for a while. The Kylie Cosmetics founder told Homme Girls earlier this month that she thinks there’s a misconception that she’s had so much facial surgery because she was insecure.
“And I really wasn’t!” she insisted. “I love full lips and wanted full lips, but growing up I was always the most confident person in the room…I had my one lip insecurity thing, so I got lip filler, and it was the best thing I’ve ever done. I don’t regret it.”
Umm…so which one is it? She does or she doesn’t wish she had stayed away from procedures? I guess we’ll find out next month. Either way, she’s been discussing the way her daughter Stormi, 5 — who she shares with her on-again off-again boyfriend Travis Scott — has changed the way she looks at beauty.
Stormi’s Impact
Kylie said in the newest teaser that she doesn’t want her daughter to do the things she did, hinting that she doesn’t want Stormi to enter the world of cosmetic and plastic procedures.
“She’s perfect the way that she is,” she told Homme Girls. “I see my features in my daughter and my son now, but you know, my daughter looks like me. I get to see my beauty in her, and it’s made me love myself more for sure. Beauty is always changing for me.”
Twinsies
Kylie isn’t kidding when she says she can see herself in her son Aire, 1. In an Instagram story from Feb. 2023, it’s obvious they share the same stunning brown eyes, dark brown locks, and sweet smile.
Not Alone
Though the Kardashians and Jenners may be the most notorious, they are far from the only ones who dabble in cosmetic procedures and plastic surgeries. Actor Courtney Cox said she “tried to chase” her youthfullness with Botox and fillers.
“But there is a fine line between a refresh and overdoing it,” she said. “I didn’t realize that, ‘Oh s**t I’m actually looking really strange with injections and doing stuff to my face that I would never do now.'”
Like Kylie (supposedly), many are now stepping away from these procedures. Jane Fonda has decided she is done with face lifts, lots of celebs are saying goodbye to their breast implants, and model Linda Evangelista has opened up about the surgery that left her “disfigured.”
