At just 9 and 5 years old, North West and Stormi Brewster nearly made their very first Met Gala appearances alongside their makeup mogul moms, Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner.
The two cousins joined their mothers and Aunt Kendall Jenner at the Carlyle Hotel ahead of the 2023 event. Although they weren’t permitted as guests at the gala — all attendees must be 18 or older — the two girls walked hand-in-hand with their respective moms from the hotel to the car as the lone Kardashian and two Jenner sisters prepared to walk the famed Met stairs.
During an interview with Vogue correspondents Derek Blasberg and Chloe Fineman, the SKIMS founder revealed that North had accompanied the trio while they got dolled up for the event and was watching live footage of her mom and aunts walking the red carpet from the car. North’s Nod to Lagerfeld
North’s pre-Met outfit seems to be inspired by both the late Chanel designer and her fashion-savvy mom. The 9-year-old wore loose light-wash denim jeans with a cream-colored Chanel blazer embellished with pearls. She also donned a variety of pearl accessories, from her necklaces to her clutch. Kim Kardashian in Schiaparelli
For the gala honoring the late fashion icon, Kim stunned in a glamorous Schiaparelli dress predominantly made of strands of pearls laid atop a tan corset that snatched her waist and showed off her voluptuous curves. Of the look, she explained to Blasberg and Fineman, “I thought, ‘What is more Karl?’ You know, the iconic Chanel pearls is what I always thought of. So we wanted to just be dripping in pearls.”

Stormi looked adorable as she held her mom’s hand during the brief walk to their car ahead of the prestigious event. Kylie looked incredible at the 2023 gala in a Jean Paul Gaultier dress and overcoat — the red dress hugged every one of her curves and featured an asymmetrical neckline and hip-high slit. The massive overcoat was lined in a similar red fabric, while the outer material was a powder blue silk. She paired the red hot look with pointed-toe satin pumps of the same vibrant color.

For the Karl Lagerfeld-themed gala, Kendall wore a stunning sequined Marc Jacobs bodysuit with dramatic cape sleeves and a crystal-embellished collar. She paired the sexy look with towering platform boots that were just as glittery as her mesmerizing long-sleeve garmen.
