His heart was in the right place, but Nick Cannon’s thoughtful plan for Mother’s Day ended up backfiring in the worst way — and we can’t help but chuckle at his faux pas.
During Monday’s episode of his radio show, The Daily Cannon, the dad of 12 explained how his plan to make the six mothers of his children feel extra special on the holiday went so totally wrong.
The Drumline actor revealed he had hatched the sentimental plan of writing “handwritten messages from the heart” to all six women. Cannon insisted, “I tried my best, I really did, but I thought it would be really, really good to — you know, I could buy whatever, you know — to show people how you really feel, write it down,” he explained.

Some Praised His Efforts…
Some people really rallied for Cannon, with one Instagram user writing, “He doing more for his baby mamas then some baby daddies who got less [kids] then him and some of the baby daddies that live in the home.”
Another expressed a similar sentiment, commenting, “At least you tried there are those that don’t even say anything.”
…While Others Did Not So Much…
Many more people were not impressed by his mix-up, with one user writing, “I use to like Nick but this is so cringy 🤢.” Another agreed, commenting, “Am I the only [one] sick of him. He’s a joke 😒”
One person dropped a suggestion that Cannon certainly should have followed on his own: “You very easily could of wrote To such & such that way you couldn’t of mixed up the cards,” the Instagram user pointed out.
…But Most People Were Just Confused About Abby De La Rosa
What was even more attention-grabbing than Cannon’s story was the fact that one of his Daily Cannon co-hosts is also one of the mothers of his kids… and she reacted to the actor’s confession as if she isn’t one of his partners. If you’re feeling confused, so is everyone else.
In regard to Abby De La Rosa’s strange reaction, one Instagram user wrote, “whyyyyy Abby acting like she not 1 of them who got a mixed up card 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂” with another replying, “Lmao listen I would have to excuse myself and go read mine again lol”
Others expressed similar befuddlement, with one person commenting, “It’s the one baby mama saying ‘wooow’ as if she’s not one of said baby mama’s 🤔😄.” Some people speculated that her surprised reaction was because she received the correct card, but who really knows?
