Meghan Trainor is welcoming her second child this summer, and hospital preparations are already underway. Many expectant moms ruminate over what will be in the bag they bring when they go into labor, but when SheKnows sat down with Trainor, she immediately knew what is getting left behind: pajamas. The Grammy-winning singer says she brought way too many when she gave birth to her son Riley, 2 who she shares with husband Daryl Sabara.

“I didn’t even wear those because I love that hospital rag,” she says. “I was like, ‘Can I have another one of these, please?” It was great because it was cozy and it was light. You don’t want anything touching you.”

With PJs on the chopping block, the “Made You Look” singer will have more room for the items she wishes she had prioritized last time: breastfeeding products.

“I remember thinking how confusing this is when someone was like, ‘Make sure you bring your pumps to the hospital,’ and I was like, ‘Silly goose, your milk doesn’t come in for days,'” she admits. “But I didn’t realize it’s because you dry pump to tell your boobies to make milk. So yeah, I’m going to pack breast pumps this time, and I’m gonna pack nipple cream and shields.”

And what’s staying status quo, you ask? Makeup has no place in Trainor’s hospital bag. She salutes the moms who get glammed up and vlog during labor, but Trainor says she has no desire to do the same. Especially since she’s there with her husband.

“He’s here to stay,” she jokes. “So I’m not like trying to get a date. And I personally wasn’t in the vibe to feel myself through [Riley’s birth].”

And though she probably won’t pack any hair products since those first few postpartum days are sans shower, she will likely head to the hospital with hair that’s been washed and styled with the new Unbreakable Care Collection from Nexxus. Given the double thumbs up she gives the brand, we are guessing her braids will hold up better than last time.

“I went in with French braids for [Riley’s] C-section,” she says. “I think for those days following it I had just like tangled French braids. That was my vibe. It was the roughest look.”

But here’s the thing: Even with a hospital rag, no makeup, and tangled braids, Trainor would make us look.
