Spend two seconds on one of the Irwins’ Instagram profiles, and you’ll already start learning about wildlife conservation. Steve Irwin may have been the king of the animal documentaries, but his kids Bindi Irwin, 24, and Robert Irwin, 19, are carrying on the legacy through their social feeds — and Bindi’s 2-year-old daughter Grace is getting in on the fun, too! The toddler recently counted alligators while her uncle Robert and dad, Chandler Powell, fed them dinner, and the video would definitely make the Crocodile Hunter proud.
“Meet Daisy the alligator as she enjoys her dinner 🐊,” Robert captioned a video posted to Instagram this weekend.

“Today, we’re gonna head in and have a look at the alligators,” the wildlife photographer says in the video. He adds, “Grace is gonna watch feeding the alligators!” The camera pans to the toddler, who is dressed in a khaki sweater and pants. She turns and says, “Kachow!” and if your heart wasn’t melting before, it sure is now!
“We’re gonna watch Uncle Robert and Dada feed the alligators,” Bindi can be heard saying in the background as Grace peeks through the bars of the habitat. Robert jumps over the enclosure, as Bindi holds Grace at a safe distance. The little girl holds up her fingers, and Robert explains, “Grace is counting the alligators.”

Later, Robert lures Daisy the alligator out of the water to feed her, showcasing her sharp teeth and her super long tail, which he calls “the secret to their success.”
He added, “They’re really sweet. My dad called them frogs with shark teeth because that’s pretty much what they are.”
After the quick lesson, Robert returns to his niece and asks, “Grace, what did you think?”
She responds, “Love you, Daisy.”
How cute is she?! To her, Daisy is just like any other animal that she is learning to love, and I can’t get over the sweetness.
Bindi Irwin Commented on the Video
Even Bindi couldn’t get over how cute Grace is. She commented on her brother’s video, “Grace’s ‘Love you Daisy’. ❤️❤️❤️” We are obsessed with that, too!
Someone else commented, “He is definitely a chip off the ole block from his dad. Such a love for all the animals. Truly amazing. Little Grace is so freaking adorable.”
“Steve would have been so proud of his babies and grandbabies! ❤️💔❤️” another wrote.
“Grace is too cute! 💗🐊” someone else commented.
Steve Irwin Introduced His Kids to Alligators, Too
Robert was around Grace’s age when his dad introduced him to an alligator. In 2005, Steve took photos with Bindi and Robert with a 3-year-old alligator named Russ. In one photo, Bindi and Robert have identical haircuts (their long bangs trimmed just over their eyebrows) as they help their dad hold the gator. Robert has the biggest wide-mouthed grin as he rests his little hand on the alligator’s tail. It’s so sweet to see their love for animals, including alligators, has only grown through the years and now they are passing it on to the next generation!
Robert Irwin Carries on His Dad’s Legacy
This isn’t the first time Robert has carried on his dad’s legacy. Last month, he recreated an old picture of his dad driving a ute (Australia’s version of a truck). “My dad’s ute… it’s a special car,” he wrote. “From early memories when Dad would park and let me pretend to drive, to more recently when I took my drivers test in it (and somehow managed not to stall it 😂).”
He also shared how the car helped him meet baby Grace. “I remember my first solo drive in this car after I got my license – it was to the hospital to meet my niece for the first time, right after she was born,” he said. “And now, the ute still comes on road trips to this day…”
