Now a source close to the palace claims that all those relatable moments we’ve seen from the Princess of Wales are in fact something of her norm at home — and we aren’t surprised at all.

“Most people are always surprised to find that Kate is surprisingly normal,” an insider told OK! Magazine.
The insider claimed that the Princess of Wales typically has “16-hour days” between royal duties and taking care of her kids, and all moms can relate. Remember the days when getting off work actually meant getting a break? It’s nice to see that Middleton still takes care of her kids like any other mom after work, despite being a literal princess.
Kate Middleton Is Reportedly ‘Looking Forward’ to Family Time This Summer
With King Charles’ coronation behind her, Middleton is reportedly excited about resting with her family.
“She’s looking forward to some private time in the country where she can let her guard down and really be herself with her family,” the source told OK!. We don’t blame her at all!
When she is at home, she’s fully in mom mode. “She prefers that people don’t fuss over her during her day-to-day life,” the insider dished. “With her royal duties, she obviously needs a little help, but at home, she likes to do things herself.”
And not just the fun mom things — Middleton takes on the boring mom duties, too. “She does her own shopping, arranges playdates, helps the kids with homework, and has dinner on the table at about 6 every night,” the source said. (She’s probably collapsing on the couch binge-watching her favorite shows by 8 p.m., too.)
The Princess of Wales Has Been Very Busy This Summer
The Princess of Wales has been very busy lately. Last week, she visited Maidenhead Rugby Club to discuss the “Shaping Us” campaign and the role the community plays in supporting children and parents. She also recently attended the Children’s Picnic at the Royal Hospital Chelsea Flower Show.
On a May 25 trip to London to support early childhood development at the Foundling Museum engagement, witnesses called Middleton “humble and down-to-earth,” according to OK!, with a palace source adding that Princess Kate “feels passionately about the cause, so she loves these kinds of royal engagements where she gets to interact with kids and converse with people one-on-one.”
The source added that the Princess of Wales prefers these intimate interactions over giving speeches, “which still give her anxiety,” and “superficial photo ops, like cutting a ribbon.”
They added, “Her royal schedule is currently free, and after the past couple of months, she needs it.”
Princess Kate Is Modeling Gentle Parenting at Home
Another way Princess Kate is just like us? She employs gentle parenting at home with the royal kids.
Royal expert and author Jennie Bond recently told OK! that Kate’s “revolutionary” way of parenting is all about “mutual respect, understanding, and patience.”
She added that Middleton’s parenting technique “is about letting them express those emotions and sitting down to discuss them with the child, rather than ignoring the turmoil that growing up so often involves.”
“It is fantastic and I believe Catherine will very much be the leader in this and William will be the follower, he will have been learning from Catherine how to be a different kind of parent,” Bond added. “[Catherine] explains [to their children] why good manners are important and that kindness begets kindness and that inclusivity should be natural.”
