Blame it on lack of sleep, or being on vacation mode, or just a deep, pure love of life — or all three? — but Olivia Munn and John Mulaney’s 20-month-old son Malcolm Hiệp is adorably “slap happy” in a new video, and we can’t stop watching it on repeat.
“His squeal at the end,” Munn captioned the clip on Instagram. In it, Malcolm is sitting on his dad’s shoulders at the beach, just laughing without a care in the world.

“Slap happy!” the comedian says, as he tries to balance a wiggly, giggly Malcolm on his shoulders. The toddler is wearing light blue shorts and a gray sweatshirt which features little water stains likely spilt from the yellow water bottle he’s holding in one hand. He keeps laughing in the video, before eventually squealing and making his parents (and us!) smile in delight.

Munn also shared the video on her Instagram Stories, writing, “His laugh is so full and happy I just love it sm.”
Many others commented on the cute video. “When the pedialyte hits you just right,” one person joked.
Another gushed, “Aww this made my day😍. Love his giggle and all his happiness❤️❤️❤️.”

John Mulaney & Malcolm Have a Special Morning Routine
Mulaney recently appeared on the Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend podcast, where he revealed his unusual morning routine with baby Malcolm.
“I used to spin out about so many things and I used to want to be so clever and wanted to be this curated little prick and I now have nothing in my head except, ‘Yeah, Malcolm do that. Oh yeah, right. Baseball,” Mulaney said, per PEOPLE.
“He wakes up at 4:50 a.m. Every night when he goes to bed I go, ‘What time are you going to wake up?’ And he goes, ‘7,’ and we both laugh. And we say ‘Deal,’ and we shake.”
“He gets in bed, he wakes up at 4:50. I unzip him at 4:50, this happened two Wednesdays ago. He goes, ‘Baseball!’ Immediately I go, ‘You wanna play?’ He goes, ‘Game,’ ” Mulaney continued. “So I take him out, get him out of his sleepsack. Now he and I are in the front yard, 5:10 a.m. In pajamas and jackets. And I take the ball and I put in on the tee. And he’s holding a wiffle ball bat and he goes, ‘Two bats.’ So I hand him another bat and now he has two.”
He added, “And we’re just two morons at 5 in the morning, the floodlights, Ring camera lights are going off it’s so early.” But what special memories are being made!
Malcolm Loves Making People Laugh
Malcolm has a future as a comedian. Not only does he love laughing, but he’s also great at making others laugh.
In a Feb. 2023 Instagram Reel, the Hit-Monkey star shared a video of Mulaney reading to Malcolm, and the little boy nailing every single animal sounds. When he gets to the snorting for the pig, Mulaney bursts into laughter. Malcolm is such a cutie!
