Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas’s 20-month-old daughter Malti Marie is one lucky girl. She gets to grow up learning about all the unique cultural traditions from both her mom (who was born in Jamshedpur, India) and dad (who was born in Dallas, TX). Recently, the Citadel star shared photos of Malti embracing her heritage by falling in love with this unique toy.
Ganapati Idols in India
“A girl and her Ganpati [sic] 😍,” Chopra Jonas wrote in her caption. A Ganapati (also called Ganesha or Ganesh), is the Hindu god of beginnings and the patron of intellectuals, bankers, scribes, and authors. The elephant-shaped creature with a round belly is almost always depicted with an Indian sweet in his hand.
Malti has a plushie version of a Ganapati, who looks adorable! She’s holding her elephant, which is wearing a yellow pointed hat and red shorts and holding a plush piece of candy in his hand. In slide two, Malti is hugging her toy with both hands wrapped around him and her eyes closed. From this angle, you can see Malti’s bindi jewel on her forehead and her many pink-and-gold bracelets on her arm. In another photo, Chopra Jonas sits on the floor and gives her curly-haired baby a snuggle.

She seems obsessed with this toy right now, a fact confirmed by what the Love Again star wrote next: “Always with us.. wherever we go.. #ganpatibappamorya 🙏🏽 #ganeshchaturthi.” Yup! Once your toddler decides to like a toy, it’s easier to pull nails out of the wall with your bare hands than to try to get it away from them. Luckily, Malti’s favorite toy is cute (and doesn’t make any loud noises!).
The “Jealous” singer commented on the photos, “😍😍😍.” Paris Hilton also left a heart-eyes emoji.
Someone else wrote, “Oh my god. The 2nd one is cutest picture on internet today 🥹🫶.” They’re not wrong!
Priyanka Chopra & Nick Jonas Are Bringing the ‘Things We Love” to Malti.
Jonas and Chopra Jonas met for the first time at the 2017 Vanity Fair Oscars after party, although, they had been exchanging messages since the fall of 2016. They tied the knot in Dec. 2018 and welcomed baby Malti Marie via surrogate in Jan. 2022. They’ve tried to give Malti a well-rounded childhood, which is why she went to a special event in India and celebrated Christmas with Jonas’s family in New Jersey.
In June 2022, The Good Half actor shared how important it is for Malti to learn about her various cultures. “It’s really important to us that our daughter has an upbringing that is representative of our family and the things we love about [my wife’s] Indian culture and my American culture,” he told PEOPLE.
