Joe Jonas Filed for Divorce in September
As a quick recap, Jonas filed for divorce in September. The couple released a statement at the time, saying, “After four years of wonderful marriage we have mutually decided to amicably end our marriage. There are many speculative narratives as to why but, truly this is a united decision and we sincerely hope that everyone can respect our wishes for privacy for us and our children.”
On Sept. 21, the Game of Thrones star sued Jonas over the return of their daughters to England. In court documents obtained by TODAY, Turner asked for the “immediate return” of the girls after their “wrongful retention” in New York City by Jonas. TMZ reported on Oct. 9 that the “Cool” singer played with his daughters at a park before dropping them off with their mom, showing a smooth co-parenting relationship.
Sophie Turner Will Have the Girls for Christmas
Court documents obtained by TMZ on Tuesday revealed that the estranged couple reached a temporary custody agreement and things were looking good on everything else, as an “amicable resolution on all issues between them is forthcoming.”
The custody agreement gives an insight into where the girls will be for the holiday season. From Oct. 9-Oct. 21, Turner will have Willa and Delphine, where she is allowed to travel with them in the U.S. or U.K. if she wants, per TMZ. Then, Turner will give her daughters to Jonas on Oct. 21, where they will stay with him until Nov. 2.
The couple will trade off custody of their daughters, with Turner having them from Nov. 2-22 and Jonas having them from Nov. 22-Dec. 16. The girls will be with their dad for the Thanksgiving holidays and stay with their mom over the Christmas holidays until Jan. 7, 2024.
Priyanka Chopra Is Reportedly Worried About Losing Contact With Sophie Turner
While things seem to be going well for the couple, it is still tough. And the Jonas family is feeling the tension. “Sophie and Joe kept a lot of their friends separate, but a few are caught in the middle of this mess,” a source told Life & Style, specifically naming Priyanka Chopra Jonas, who is married to Nick Jonas.
“There was once a time Sophie thought she and Joe would move to London and so would Nick and Priyanka,” the source continued, adding, “Priyanka loves Sophie and her nieces and doesn’t want to do anything to jeopardize them being in her life.”
Now that they’ve come to a custody agreement, hopefully Chopra Jonas won’t have anything to worry about!
