It was a Jonas family reunion at a recent Jonas Brothers concert in New Jersey. Joe, Nick, and Kevin Jonas’s parents, Kevin Sr. and Denise Jonas, attended the hometown show with their youngest son Frankie Jonas — and they slipped into grandparent mode to watch Joe’s daughters Willa 3, and Delphine, 1, per Entertainment Tonight. Kevin’s wife Danielle and their daughters Alena, 9, and Valentina, 7, were also in attendance. No mention was made if Nick’s wife Priyanka Chopra Jonas and their daughter Malti, who turns 2 in January, was there.
Joe Jonas Cried During the Performance
An insider told Entertainment Tonight that this was the girls’ first Jonas Brothers concert, and when he performed the emotional song “Little Bird,” Joe even started crying. Aw! The song is a tear-jerker, and one that was written about their daughters, so it’s no wonder that he felt moved during the show.
Not to mention, the “Waffle House” singer is going through a divorce with ex Sophie Turner and splitting time with their kids. In an Oct. 2023 joint statement, they said, “After a productive and successful mediation, we have agreed that the children will spend time equally in loving homes in both the U.S. and the UK. We look forward to being great co-parents.”
Court documents showed that the estranged couple arranged a custody agreement through the end of 2023, with Jonas having the girls for Thanksgiving and Turner getting them from Dec. 17 until Jan. 7, 2024.
Thanksgiving Get-Together
Kevin Sr. and Denise, who go by “Papa” and “Glammy” to their granddaughters, opened up about spending Thanksgiving with the whole family.
“I feel like that really started off the holiday season for us,” Denise told PEOPLE. “We actually were all together, which has not really been [the case lately] because they’re so busy and they’re always working and their wives are working in different places and Frankie’s in college, or he’s on tours as well.”
“We all came together and it was just magical,” Denise added. “It just felt like a Hallmark movie for us. It really was a blessing and we know that.” How sweet!
Grandparents’ Love
Kevin Sr. also shared how different life is as a grandparent. “I feel like your role changes throughout life and we get to experience this new generation, our granddaughters, and it’s so interesting to realize that with your grandkids, your only job is love,” he told PEOPLE. “That’s it. And being present.”
“I don’t have to train them. I just have to love them,” he continued. “There are times I’m on the floor crawling around and I think, ‘I don’t know how much I did this with my own kids, but I love this with my grandkids.’”
Denise also shared how much she loves seeing her sons perform. “When they sing songs, especially the OG songs that everybody loves, I relive every emotion, every feeling,” the mom of four said. “I know where we were living. I know why they wrote the song. I relive it all. It’s so raw, but it’s so good. And I see how it affects everyone in a different way, and it just is so fulfilling.”
The Jonas family are so supportive of each other, and it’s so heartwarming!
