We know your kids are getting oh-so-antsy for Christmas, and while it’s not quite time for presents, they probably need some more festive fun to tide them over. And if you’ve already baked more cookies than you can eat and watched all the holiday movies you can handle (or are just plain done with screen time), it’s time for some arts and crafts.
When our wallets are already feeling the weight of the season, we like to turn to freebies. Enter: The printable coloring sheet. (Don’t have a printer? Your local library should!) We’ve compiled the perfect collection of designs that the whole family can enjoy. From the simple scenes for young artists to the more intricate ones for your Michaelangelo-in-training. Of course, they won’t keep them busy for quite as long as it took to paint the Sistine Chapel, but any time crafting — and not begging you to open a present early — is time well spent.
So go ahead, print out these bad boys, and grab your coloring utensil of choice. Markers? Crayons? Paint? Any will do. You can even add some pompon balls, popsicle sticks, tinsel, and the like to give their masterpiece a 3-D effect.
Pro tip: Realize you need another stocking stuffer? Print out all the sheets and DIY an entire Christmas coloring book with a stapler or a hole punch and some ribbon. It’s basically free (already have the ribbon?) and totally genius.
