The Princess of Wales is mom to Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince, Louis, 5, with husband Prince William. The royal trio — especially the older two — behave impeccably at royal engagements and public events, often smiling for the cameras and showing kindness to others. (Prince Louis is known to be a bit more of a wildcard, but who can blame him? He’s only 5!) And the reported secret to this behavior: Teaching kids there is a time and place for everything.

Jo Frost, global parenting expert and Supernanny star, shared her opinion on how Middleton raises her kids. She recently told Hello! Magazine, “They’re raised with an understanding of royal procedures and protocols. And they’re raised to understand, there’s a time and a place.”
Teaching your kids there is a time and place for everything is an excellent idea! Sure, you can run around — but at the playground, not at the grocery store. Listen to your teachers at school, then be silly and play when you get home. It’s so simple — but such a great reminder.
Everyone Can Take Notes
Frost shared that this advice works for anyone. “It’s relatable to any family,” she told the outlet. “For example, there’s a wedding or a christening coming up and we know that it would be good manners and etiquette to be quiet while the choir is singing and the service is happening. That, to me, is just responsible parenting, and we see that.”
“They have a lovely balance of that and behind closed doors, no doubt they’re playing games and winding each other up as siblings do, teasing each other, having fun and baking cookies and being out in nature,” she continued.
She also praised the way Princess Kate handles Louis’s “big feelings,” sharing that Middleton is “creating this beautiful environment for the children to thrive in.”
Behaving at School
It seems like this parenting technique is working, because the royal kids even behave well at school, when no parents are around. The children go to Lambrook School, and a source recently told Hello! that Charlotte is “so kind and friendly” and “the other children adore her.”
“She’s kind to the kids in younger years and she’s very popular,” the insider said, adding, “George seems like a nice boy, too, and little Louis just has so much energy.” Overall, “they’re lovely kids.”
