Baby Matilda “Tildy” Carmine is in love. Kaley Cuoco’s 9-month-old daughter has major heart eyes for her dad Tom Pelphrey, and it’s so endearing.
The Role Play star said that Pelphrey is the “apple” of Matilda’s eye in an interview with PEOPLE on Thurdsay night. “Whenever he walks in the room, she only wants to be with him. She is a total daddy’s girl,” Cuoco gushed about her “fantastic” and “incredible” partner.
Cuoco, who was at a screening for her new Prime Video movie during the red-carpet interview, said that they couldn’t find a sitter “so he stayed home with her so I could be here.”
“He loves her more than anything in the world,” Cuoco continued about Pelphrey and Tildy’s relationship. You love to see it!
Funny Girl
At the movie screening last night, The Flight Attendant star also opened up about how entertaining her home life is.
“I love her so much, I really do,” Cuoco told PEOPLE about Tildy. “She is very funny. I think selfishly what I love the most is she finds me hilarious. I think she’s my best audience.”
She went on, “I never had more laughs than I do in our house with this baby. And I used to feel like I got a lotta laughs, but now with her, I am her 24/7 clown entertainment, and I love nothing more.” Such a precious little girl!
Parenting Came ‘Natural’ to Tom
Pelphrey is also a supportive partner to Cuoco. On the SmartLesspodcast, The Big Bang Theory alum opened up about her boyfriend.
While discussing having more kids (which Cuoco admitted her and Pelphrey “do” want), she said, “Tom would carry the baby.” Talk about a dedicated dad!
In April 2023, the Love & Death actor said that on a scale of 1-10, he’s an “eleven” when it comes to being wrapped around Tildy’s finger. He also shared his reaction to his daughter’s birth.
“My heart was full. I was just so grateful,” he told Access Hollywood.
“It’s just wild,” Pelphrey continued. “I think you’re almost in a state of like happy shock. And then you wake up the next morning, and you’re like, wait, yeah, that’s ours!”
He added, “I was surprised how natural [parenthood] felt. Like being around my nieces and other babies in my family was always a little bit, like, scared to hold them, scared to touch them, didn’t want to break them…As soon as they handed me Matilda, I felt comfortable holding her, I felt comfortable moving her around and changing her and that was surprise.”
Airplane Disaster
But there is one thing Pelphrey can’t do — keep his daughter happy on a plane.
Earlier this month, Cuoco appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live and shared a recent story about flying with Tildy. “We flew with [Tildy] recently,” she said. “It was our first flight ever with this baby — terrifying.”
To prepare for the flight, Cuoco and Pelphrey brought their baby’s sound machine. Cuoco explained, “We put it right next to her ear. It’s the only thing that will get her to go to sleep … So she’s crying, we put the sound machine on — it was hard. She finally falls asleep, and she’s on Tom, and the sound machine is on, and we’re finally like ‘Ahh!’”
But the relaxing moment was short-lived. “The steward comes over and he’s like, ‘Hey. One of our passengers would love it if you would turn the sound machine off,’” the Based on a True Story star continued. “And I’m sitting there, and I’m like, ‘Oh my god, oh my god. ’And I can feel Tom be like, ‘Hey. Ask the passenger if she wants to hold our screaming child when we turn off.’ I mean, the ice went into his veins … I couldn’t believe, by the way, she asked us to turn it off.” The audacity of some people!
Other than planes, though, Tildy is one happy Daddy’s girl — and it’s the sweetest thing, ever.
