Gender-Neutral Kids’ Line Debuts at Target

App-based game company Toca Boca has a new collection at Target, and it’s pretty revolutionary. All the pieces in this colorful kids’ clothing line are designed to be gender-neutral.

Parents won’t have to visit either the girl or boy clothing section to check out the new items. “Everything we make at Toca Boca is designed for all kids; it’s our mission to make sure no kid ever feels excluded by Toca Boca,” said the company’s head of consumer products, Mathilda Engman, in a press release. “True to those values the collection was designed with inclusivity in mind, and we are so excited to see it will be merchandised together as a collection sitting between the boys and girls aisle of many Target stores.”

The line’s whimsical designs and bright colors appeal to all kids, regardless of gender. Clothing items like leggings, hoodies and tees feature characters from the company’s app-based games, as well as animals and other fun graphics.

The collection is Target’s latest show of support for the LGBTQ community; last year, the big-box retailer promised to install single-stall (and thus gender-neutral) bathrooms in all its locations. Target’s official stance is to allow customers to use the bathroom that matches their gender identity. “Inclusivity is a core belief at Target. It’s something we celebrate,” the company proclaims on their site.

In addition to clothing, the Toca Boca line features bedding, activity books, lunch bags and more. Nice work, Target! Now take all our money. Again.
