When it comes to purchasing kids furniture, many parents look for something that’s sturdy and beautifully designed that won’t force them to dip into their kids’ college funds. Unfortunately, kid shopping on a budget sometimes means you have to settle for a lot of brightly colored (and poorly designed) plastic. No matter how many DIY projects you try to make the furniture less garish, nothing ever seems to work. And to top it all off, many of the kids items on the market can’t actually withstand the wear and tear of an active toddler.
Designers Robert and Cortney Novogratz, who co-parent seven children, understand just as well as any parents the need for long-lasting pieces at reasonable prices. That’s why they’ve created the Addison Collection, a line of 16 stunning Swedish-modern kids furniture items — featuring a daybed, nightstands and bookcases — that just launched at Walmart. The line ranges in price from $55.80 to $299.99, which is a steal when we’re talking Swedish-modern design.
“What we’ve found is that there’s sometimes a void where price point meets modern, which can make it pretty tough to decorate your kids’ rooms in a way that is practical but still stylish and consistent with the other decor in your home,” Cortney wrote in a blog post.
Is it possible to create a kid-friendly space that won’t leave you feeling embarrassed when company comes over? Absolutely. Cortney and Robert decided to take a “Scandinavian approach” with their collection because they felt “it’s timeless and transitional, but still fun.” Click through to see some of the designs, and just try to restrain yourself.

Novogratz Addison Twin Daybed
Four storage cubbies make this darling twin daybed just as practical as it is visually appealing. Plus, it totally eliminates the chances your kids will just shove their toys under their beds when you ask them to tidy up their rooms. We call that a win-win.
