Should transgender kids be allowed in Girl Scouts? (WATCH)

The Girl Scouts have allowed transgender kids for a few years now. But it’s recently been in the news again because some parents in Utah aren’t very happy about this little fact.

Would I have a problem with my child participating in a Girl Scout troop that also accepted transgender kids? No. I’d have a problem with my child participating in a Girl Scout troop that did not believe in inclusivity and refused acceptance to transgender children. If a transgender child is someone who identifies with a different sex than they were biologically assigned at birth, a transgender Girl Scout is a child whose heart and mind are telling them they are a girl. They would be interacting with other scouts as a girl. The Girl Scouts are about empowering the hearts and minds of girls. Sounds like a good fit to me.
