Sex education at 4 years old isn’t as crazy as it sounds (WATCH)
Talking to your child about sex is a rite of passage that many parents dread. Not me, though.
Sex is only a big deal if we make it one, and I’m choosing to talk about it to my child in a way that doesn’t scare her. On the other hand, I don’t want to be so nonchalant about it that she can’t wait to give it a try as soon as she gets the chance.
There’s a delicate balance with sex education that I want to be responsible for. It’s not that I don’t trust the school to do a good job; it’s just that our family has values regarding sex that might not fit into their curriculum.
That being said, no. I do not want my daughter’s kindergarten teacher giving lessons on sex ed. I’d rather they stick with sight words and I’ll take care of the rest.
