The U.S. based taxi service Uber has had its fair share of negative publicity over the last 12 months with complaints of extortionate rates, drivers’ bad behaviour and reports of blackmailing the press if they challenge the company’s PR.
So can Uber keep the public sweet with its latest venture? Its new cat delivery service brings real, live, fluffy kittens to your workplace, between 12 p.m. and 4 p.m., for 15 minutes of feel-good cat therapy. You can also order them for other people who need a little cheering up at work.
All you have to do is download the Uber app, book your kitten slot, pay the fee (around £20; these kittens don’t come cheap but you can split the cost with workmates) and wait for the little bundle of cuteness to arrive and brighten up your day.

The best part? All the kittens come from animal shelters and 100 percent of the proceeds go to them.
The worst part? The service is currently only available in the U.S. and Australia. Expect a “bring Uber kittens to the U.K.” type petition to start very soon.
Uber is worth $40 million but you can’t put a price on good press, which may be why Uber’s latest service is one that can only put a smile on even the most Uber-sceptical of faces. Unless, of course, the kittens turn out to be particularly vicious. Or you have a cat allergy.
