Of course, you have! And now you can fulfil that dream of turning your cat or small dog into a mythical creature from the depths of your imagination, thanks to a store on Etsy.
Meredith Langley created her store, iheartneedlework, along with her assistant Atticus Finch, a dashing Pug, and model, Scissors, a rescue cat, after falling in love with the needle and thread. As a stay-at-home mum, Meredith taught herself to crochet when her first child was born.
“Initially, it was simply a fun hobby to keep me entertained and my hats for cats were a novelty that I shared with family and friends,” Meredith says. “My work received such a positive response that I decided to open a shop on Etsy.”

But Meredith isn’t just putting a smile on people’s faces through her quirky designs, she also raises awareness about animal welfare projects.
“My work enables me to help humane societies promote adoptions, and it gives me the scheduling freedom to do what I love most, which is raising and releasing orphaned wildlife,” says Meredith, who has three children, three cats, an elderly leopard gecko, a Pug and seasonal infant squirrel and opossum rescues to take care of.

“There is always a reason to create something new,” she says.
After a quick browse through her store, it’s easy to see she has been hard at work creating all sorts of pet-friendly designs.
There’s a sailor hat, a graduation cap, a bunny beanie, wizard hats and loads more to choose from. And they’re not just for cats, either. Some of the hats are perfect for small breed dogs as well, as Atticus Finch showcases, just one of her many pets that models the designs.
“Scissors hasn’t been to college, but he doesn’t let that keep him from celebrating his accomplishments!” Meredith says about the graduation cap. “Today, he proudly models his new custom graduation cap for pets.” Oh, bless!
