Hollywood recently lost one of its most iconic and adorable dogs: Bruiser, the tiny yet lovable Chihuahua that starred alongside Reese Witherspoon in Legally Blonde.
Reese posted a picture of the duo on set to her Instagram account on Friday with the caption, “With a sad heart, I have to let all the #LegallyBlonde fans know that Bruiser Woods (also known as Moonie) passed away yesterday.”
While the news that our favorite law-abiding Chihuahua had passed away was sad to hear, remembering Bruiser brought back memories of all of Hollywood’s greatest pets. Take a look at 14 of the greatest pets to ever grace the silver screen.
Thackery Binx
The memorable Hocus Pocus character may have started out as human, but when he was transformed into a talking black cat, Binx became the world’s most desirable pet.
Hooch
The canine star from Turner & Hooch is possibly the most loyal, loving and protective dog in all of cinematic history.
Shadow
Yes, there were three great pets in Homeward Bound, but Shadow won our hearts with his fierce dedication to protecting his friends and family.
Babe
We all wished we could adopt this little orphaned piglet from the classic 90s film, Babe.
Toto
No one would complain if a tornado dropped the adorable little Wizard of Oz sidekick on their doorstep.
Black Beauty
The stunning star from Black Beauty was the horse every girl dreamed of having.
Marley
It’s hard to even think of the movie Marley & Me without tears welling up. Marley was just that amazing.
Willy
When I first watched Free Willy as a kid, I dreamed of trading places with Jesse and being the one to help send Willy back to the ocean, where he belonged.
Mighty Joe
If given the chance, who wouldn’t want to live in the jungle with the giant, loving gorilla from Mighty Joe Young?
Hedwig
Hagrid, feel free to give the gorgeous snowy owl from Harry Potter to me as a pet any day.
Milo and Otis
The stars of Milo and Otis were everything best friends should be. #FriendshipGoals
Mr. Bigglesworth
The unforgettable cat from Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery may not be the prettiest pet on this list, but we fell in love with him anyway.
Beethoven
Sure, he may have been a slobbery mess, but only someone with a stone heart could not fall in love with the star of Beethoven.
