Kids’ Health
As any parent will tell you, staying on top of kids' health is no easy task. With still-developing immune systems and lots of time in public spaces like schools and daycares, kids are vulnerable to common infectious illnesses, like colds, the flu, and strep throat. But it's not just about respiratory viruses — pink eye (aka conjunctivitis) is common among kids, mysterious earaches pop up seemingly out of nowhere, and asthma attacks, broken bones, allergies, and skin conditions like eczema are all things parents are constantly looking out for. Mental health conditions like ADHD, eating disorders, and anxiety can also affect kids, as well as pediatric cancer and developmental disabilities.
For parents, taking care of your kids' health means keeping them up to date on vaccinations, serving them a balanced diet, encouraging them to play and stay active, and of course, opening up a line of communication so they know they can share any mental or physical health questions they might have. If you have questions about your child's health, make sure to speak to your health provider.
