Queen Camilla
Queen Camilla, previously known as Camilla Parker Bowles and The Duchess of Cornwall, is the Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. As one of the top members of the British royal family, Camilla supports her husband King Charles III in carrying out his work and duties.
Camilla was born on July 17, 1947, at King’s College Hospital London and is the daughter of Major Bruce Shand and Hon Rosalind Shand.
After attending the Dumbrells School in Sussex and the Queen’s Gate School in London, she finished school at the Mon Fertile School in Switzerland and briefly attended the University of London Institute in Paris.
Camilla first met Charles in 1970 and while they immediately hit it off, their relationship cooled when he went away on an extended naval deployment. On July 4, 1973, Camilla married army officer Andrew Parker Bowles in a lavish ceremony. Together they welcomed children Tom (born 1974) and Laura (born 1978).
While still married, Camilla reignited her relationship with Charles in 1986 during his marriage to Princess Diana. Amid the public uproar against their affair in the 90s, Camilla split from her husband and Charles divorced Diana in 1997.
In 2005, Camilla and Charles tied the knot in a civil ceremony with the support of her kids and new step-sons Prince William and Prince Harry. Upon marriage, Camilla chose to be called The Duchess of Cornwall.
In Charles' coronation on May 6, 2023, Camilla was officially declared Queen Camilla.
