Jill Biden Reveals Who the Most Mischievous Family Member Is at the White House This Christmas

The holidays are a special time at the White House and First Lady Dr. Jill Biden loves giving tours to family, friends, and special guests to see the festive decor. While their home will be filled with their children and grandkids over Christmas, there’s one Biden family member who loves this season most of all.

Joe and Jill Biden’s three-year-old tabby cat Willow might be the most mischievous one of all. She was rescued by the First Couple after she was enthralled with one of the first lady’s speeches in a barn. “She came and sat on the chair and listened to the speech,” claimed Jill in a White House tour with pet site, The Dodo.

Willow helped Jill lead the producer around the hallways of the White House where the “very affectionate” cat got into a little trouble. “Willow, you have snow on your fur,” as her mom brushed off the fake snow from her fur baby’s coat. And then the kitty started using some of the Styrofoam snow as a scratching post. “Let’s not do that. This is the White House behave,” joked The Dodo‘s executive producer. There’s even an adorable statue of Willow curled up by one of the trees which the cat did not seem to appreciate.

And of course, Willow got presents from The Dodo, which included plenty of catnip mice and toys. She promptly showed off her chubby belly and sorted through the gift box — it was big hit. Willow first came home to the White House in January 2022, and she’s named after the first lady’s hometown of Willow Grove, Pennsylvania.

Joe Biden promised his wife a cat if he won the 2020 election, but it took some time for them to find the perfect cat. The last kitty in the White House was George W. Bush’s cat, India, and many people remember Bill Clinton’s cat, Socks. But it sounds like Willow has plenty of cattitude to carry on the legacy, and hopefully stay off of Santa’s naughty list.
