Thanks to the frosty weather that’s now upon us (or upon some of us anyhow), this new icy nail trend is taking over. It’s a combination of icicles, blue and white colors, sparkles and even sharp, pointy tips.
You know Elsa would’ve been sporting this style here if she had access to a manicurist on her mountain.
Silver Shimmer
This more delicate icicle look will be sure to catch some attention.
The Frosty French Manicure
A French manicure can easily go icicle by going vertical with your white tip rather than horizontal.
Geometric
This super mod icicle design is mesmerizing to look at.
Stark Contrast
This bold blue really makes the bright white icicles stand out.
Alternating
Icicles are easy to create yourself. Just pick your base color and alternate a lighter, sweeping line from the base with sparkly one.
Silver Tipped
…Or go crazy, and create some silver and blue-tipped talons.
Pointy
You don’t want to mess with this lady’s winter wonderland.
Simple
As long as you have a dark polish for the base, and a lighter one for the icicles (and a steady hand), you can master this style yourself.
Colorful
Or get creative with color! Who says icicles need to be white?
Penguin Friend
And if you’ve got the skills, throw a cute penguin in there for good measure.
Subtle
This subtle look is the one I’m trying later.
Ombré
Here’s an ombré effect that looks like icicles because little lines of color are bleeding into each other.
Just One
If you’re not sure if you’re going to like it, try just painting one nail, and keep the rest simple.
Grey On Grey
A lighter, silvery grey on matte grey looks surprisingly realistic.
