You would expect an adventure companion to be a dog, maybe even a cat, but a chicken? That was one I definitely did not see coming. But for France native Guirec Soudée, an out of the coop companion was what he needed for his worldwide sailing adventure.
Soudée left home to travel the world when he was 18. Needing a travel companion and a food source, he met Monique in the Canary Islands and decided to bring her along so she could provide eggs for him to eat on his journey. Turns out, Monique is actually quite the natural when it comes to sailing, and lucky for us, the duo documents their journey through adorable and hilarious pictures on Facebook.
