Let’s be real. We’ve all had those moments when we’ve almost abandoned our night plans simply because the idea of changing outfits and getting ready seemed too tedious to handle after a day at the office. Two of us SheKnows editors share our favorite ways to multitask our outfits from day to night.

My motto is: “If I have to go home first, I’m not going.” I don’t care if that makes me sound 90 years old, carting the kids back and forth is a chore. So everything needs to fit in my gym bag or on my body (extra points if it doesn’t wrinkle).
Wrap it up
Headwraps are my favorite accessory because, duh, it’s OK if my hair isn’t on point. Pumped-up accessories, high heels and a leather jacket make this outfit perfect to meet up with the girls after work. I also love the fact that I can wear these bootcut jeans all day without getting the dreaded butt sag. Walmart, $20

If I could live in graphic tees and sweatshirts, I would. A nice pair of jeans and layering the sweatshirt over a shirt makes it work for the office. Walmart, $20
Statement piece
I think this red jacket is magical because it transforms any outfit. Seriously. Everyone needs at least one magical jacket and pair of jeans in their closet. The booties and statement jacket makes this ‘fit girls’ night out-ready.
Comfortable chic
Making a point to get up and walk every half hour is critical for your mental (and physical) care. So these jeans paired with comfy sneakers make this a great choice.
Pair with skinnies
These skinny jeans are giving me life (do you see these calves?)! I threw on a jacket and lace-up heels to pull my nighttime look together. Walmart, $20
Flower child
My coworkers call me a hippie, so this dress works perfectly. The sweater keeps things casual and warm for work.
Easy updo
No matter how much planning I do, there’s never enough time for a new ‘do before leaving work. This bun goes easily from day to night, and adding a bold red lip color amps up the oomph factor.
Animal prints
If you can’t tell, I like to stand out. The print on this sweater is enough of a pop without being overwhelming for the office.
Wrap dress
I love this dress. It shows off my curves and the black color hides my kids’ peanut butter hand prints. Adding a black jacket and simple accessories makes it perfect for an after-work date night with the hubby.
