Whether or not you were a devoted David Bowie fan, no one can deny that he was a mega-talented musician, and getting a glimpse into that kind of celebrity’s home is always intriguing. The New York City apartment where Bowie lived with his wife and Somali supermodel, Iman, from 1991 until 2002 is now for sale for a cool $6.5 million.
The apartment is located in Essex House, a building that was originally built in 1929, then bought and converted into a condominium hotel by JW Marriott in 1974. Residents can take advantage of the five-star hotel’s services and amenities, reports Mansion Global, so it’s not just your average multimillion-dollar urban pad.
David Bowie’s apartment
The apartment, which is located south of Central Park with sweeping views of the massive green area, also comes complete with Bowie’s personal piano. Pretty epic!
Kitchen
The kitchen is renovated with top-of-the-line appliances, though, considering they had room service at their fingertips, who knows how much cooking the couple did.
Living room
The living room comes with Bowie’s Yamaha piano included, which has been passed down through owners since the singer lived there. The living room measures 28 feet wide and opens into a walnut-paneled office that also faces Central Park, says the listing.
Bedroom
The home comes with three bedrooms, all decorated with tasteful opulence.
Master bath
The master bath once held a safe and functioned as a panic room in case a crazed fan broke in. NBD.
Dressing room
The master bedroom has a dressing room and hand-painted closet built especially for Iman.
Guest bedroom
Two of the three bedrooms (including this one) are master-size. Wonder how many A-list celebs slept here.
