It’s hard not to love the HBO hit drama Big Little Lies.
First, it has the most empowered, strong-willed leading women on- and off-screen (shoutout to Reese Witherspoon for founding Time’s Up). It has a hauntingly beautiful soundtrack (one that won Outstanding Music Supervision at the Primetime Emmy Awards in 2017) we haven’t stopped listening to since the Season 1 finale in April 2017 thanks to music supervisor Susan Jacobs. And it’s indisputably visually captivating.
No, we aren’t just talking about those panoramic establishing shots of Monterey, California, where the show takes place. And this isn’t directed at how goddamn good-looking the entire cast is. We’re talking about the women’s grandiose homes, their relaxed beach houses and their eclectic home decor.
For most of us, recreating the BLL looks in our homes seems far-fetched — and very expensive. How can one possibly afford anything in Renata’s totally luxe living room? And Celeste’s cliffside property has some of the sleekest, most expensive patio furniture we’ve ever seen.
But upon some digging, it’s actually quite easy to give your home a Big Little Lies makeover for cheap. No, really!
While an official air date for Season 2 has not been announced, it is reported Big Little Lies should return to HBO in 2019. In the meantime, why not recreate the BLL homes in your own?
