Forget who’s here for the right reasons on The Bachelorette. Who doesn’t wash his hands after using the bathroom? And which guy farts in public?
Who would have thought lie detector tests could be so confusing? Turns out, they aren’t the black and white answers Andi was searching for on Monday night on The Bachelorette. Huh, could it be because the foundation of love is a little more complicated than a few yes or no questions? We’re going to go with yes on this one.
The Bachelorette: 17 Hilarious quotes from the lie detector episode >>
Andi says she’s on the show to figure everything out in the most authentic way possible. And then she turns to a lie detector test, of course. Bad movie, Andi. Bad move. Then she rips up the results without reading them, and we breathe a sigh of relief for those poor guys.
Are you the secret admirer?
Luckily, the bachelorette means what she says about authentic. She has her fun with the guys, of course, (Dylan doesn’t wash his hands after using the restroom. Oh, and he’s slept with more than 20 women.) asking them all sorts of awkward questions. Then she rips the results to shreds without even so much as glancing at them after the men on the group date graciously participate in the test.

We actually think the guys handled the situation phenomenally. All except Josh, who was pretty unhappy with the whole date. Not that we can really blame him necessarily. He said he thought trust was something that should be built over time, not quickly breezed through with a test. Andi didn’t like the fact that he was so uncomfortable about the questions, and it made her skeptical about their relationship. We could see him feeling upset if she’d read the results, but she didn’t, so why is he freaking out?

Chris, on the other hand, stole the night by revealing he was Andi’s secret admirer. Andi had the proctors ask the question during the lie detector test, and Chris was concerned he would be outted in the most unromantic of ways. He took the first chance he could get at the mixer that night to pull her aside. Turns out, she already had a feeling it was him! It was cute, and he got a rose out of it.
“Have you ever fart in the public?”
By far the best moment of the show was the very last clip they showed as the credits rolled. Apparently, one of the lie detector questions was, “Have you ever fought in public?” But because of the proctor’s accent, the question actually became, “Have you ever fart in public?”
All of the guys answer yes. To which Brian says, “Who hasn’t?”
Marcus responds yes and can’t control his giggling to the point where the proctor — who clearly has no idea — gets a bit upset and asks Marcus if he can continue. Priceless.
Is Nick this season’s bad guy? >>
Are you here for the right reasons?
This season is really pushing Nick as the arrogant bad guy. Is it wrong that we kind of, sort of like him?
He and Andi clearly have strong chemistry, and Nick gets the first second one-on-one date before Cody even has his first. But Andi wanted to confront Nick about the rumors in the house. She asks him if he thinks he’s a front-runner, to which Nick says he doesn’t like that word.
He, instead, responds with, “I feel incredibly fortunate to have the connection that we have. It is hard to imagine anyone else having that with you. I cherish that, and I don’t take it for granted. But, yes, that’s how I feel.”
Amazing answer, if we say so. That’s not arrogant in our book. He knows what he wants and he’s going for it. Josh continues to pout in a corner, saying he wants to grab her all the time, too, but doesn’t. Why not? Andi clearly loves Nick’s go-getter attitude. “He missed me. He wanted it. Come get it,” she said.
At the end of the week, Cody is sent home after his one-on-one date, and JJ is let go during the rose ceremony. We weren’t surprised about either of those guys leaving. We’ve thought all along their connections with Andi seemed a bit forced.
