Who will be sitting at the table when The View returns in September? It looks like Bethenny Frankel is in and Jenny McCarthy is out.
Now that Barbara Walters has officially retired from The View, it looks like ABC is trying to fill her big chair. Rumors have been heating up that Bethenny Frankel is in talks to take her place.
The news was reported by Rob Shuter of VH1’s The Gossip Show that the former Bravo TV star may join the Hot Topics table.
Bethenny Frankel’s bitter custody battle officially over >>
A source revealed to Shuter, “The View is looking for someone to spice up the show. Someone with lots of opinions and a big personality, and Bethenny is at the top of the list.”
The show and Frankel’s management are reportedly in talks, but no deal has been reached yet. The TV personality just faced the cancellation of her self-titled daytime show after one season. A seat at the roundtable would be perfect for Frankel since she’s experienced, but doesn’t have to shoulder the burden of leading a show by herself.
The insider told the host that Frankel is “very interested in getting back on TV. It is the only job that she really knows. She is telling friends that she thinks she can save The View.”

In addition to the Frankel news, FOX411 is reporting that Jenny McCarthy‘s contract will not be renewed for next season.
A source told the site, “Jenny just didn’t appeal to the daytime audience market. They couldn’t relate to her. There are a lot of changes taking place now that Barbara [Walters] has left.”
With ratings down, the chat show is definitely looking to shake things up once it returns to the air after a summer hiatus.
