Zoe Saldana is pregnant with twins

As if having three blockbuster movie franchises going at once isn’t enough, sources are now confirming to E! News that actress Zoe Saldana is expecting twins.

Things are about to get very busy in the Saldana household. The Guardians of the Galaxy actress and her husband Marco Perego are expecting twins, multiple sources have told E! News.

The actress sported her blossoming baby bump at the red carpet premiere of Guardians of the Galaxy this week, shortly before the news of her pregnancy was confirmed by her publicist on Wednesday.

The exciting news comes at a busy time in Saldana’s life. Not only did she star in the just-released beginning to Marvel’s new franchise Guardians of the Galaxy, but both Star Trek 3 and Avatar 2 (which Saldana also headlines) are scheduled to begin production in 2015.

According to The Hollywood Reporter‘s Aug. 1 issue, Saldana is already thinking about her schedule. “All I know is that the producers of Trek 3 called the producers of Avatar 2 to find out when Avatar will finish shooting.”

No doubt Perego will be around to support his wife as they begin their journey as parents with her hectic filming schedule. Though the two married in secret last summer, the actress has since not been shy about sharing her happiness over her marriage.

“We found each other, and it was that desire and not that necessity that put us together,” she told People.

Saldana has also been vocal about her desire for a family. On the Lifetime series The Conversation with Amanda de Cadenet in April 2012, she said that she’d like to have at least two or three kids but wasn’t against having even more.

“They’re just so delicious. I love the anxiety, the pressure of the loud room full of yapping kids,” Saldana explained. “But I’m a kid myself. I get along very well with animals and children. I dig them. I get them. They make perfect sense to me. A child makes perfect sense to me. A child speaks more sense than an adult half of the time.”

It looks like the actress is getting her wish for a large family. Congrats to Saldana and Perego on making their dreams of family come true.
