Rob Lowe is not going to be winning any awards for the most loved celebrity any time soon, because people who suffer from shy bladders are very unhappy with the actor and one of his DirecTV commercials.
If you missed the commercial in question (which no sports fan has), it shows Lowe looking less than desirable as he transforms himself into a painfully awkward middle-aged man with a horrendous middle parting. So, what’s so offensive about the commercial, besides the fact that it makes one of Hollywood’s hottest men unrecognizable?

At one point in the commercial, the painfully awkward version of Lowe is standing at a urinal, unable to relieve himself due to shyness.
“Fact: I can’t go with other people in the room,” the character explains. And this is something with which an advocacy group for people who suffer from shy bladder syndrome is very unimpressed!
According to the New York Post‘s Page Six, CEO of the International Paruresis Association, Steve Soifer, has asked DirecTV to stop running the ad.

“We don’t mind if people have a little fun with it,” said Soifer. “It’s a situation that a lot of people don’t understand. In this particular case, the portrayal is making it look ridiculous, that this guy is a loser for having a problem.
“What if he didn’t have a leg or an arm?” he said. “Are you going to make fun of them?”
So, has DirecTV obliged? Nope! According to Page Six, they have denied the request.
“The ads will continue to run for the vast majority of viewers who have told us they enjoy the spots and understand that, like all of our commercials, they take place in a fantasy world and are not based in reality,” DirecTV spokesman, Darris Gringeri, said.
