The world really is a strange place, isn’t it? Just when you think you’ve seen it all, think again. Back in June 2014, an army of women swooned over a mug shot posted by the Stockton Police Department (state of California) of a 30-year-old convicted felon named Jeremy Meeks because he is mind-numbingly hot. Like super smoking hot.
Nicknamed the “hottie thug,” Meeks’ photo garnered over 60,000 likes on Facebook, despite his presumably off-putting arrest on felony weapons charges. The Stockton Police Department page was filled with lusty messages from various women mesmerized by the felon’s chiselled features and seductive baby blues. We’re no criminologists, but that is one tasty dish — arrest aside.

Since the interest in this crime-soaked hottie-tottie is spreading like wildfire, here’s what you need to know about the guy before you withdraw your savings to bail him out:
1. He is a convicted felon
Sure, when you stare into his Lake Tahoe eyes, you feel like you finally understand Air Supply songs… But Jeremy Meeks is a convicted felon. He was arrested as part of a group accused of committing several armed robberies and shootings. Meeks has also been convicted for a crime prior to this arrest. Unlike his face, this guy is not perfect.
2. He has a son
According to a GoFundMe page launched by his mother, Meeks does have an adorable son. No word on where the baby’s mama is or whether Meeks is married, but he is a father. The page also happens to house some very adorable photos of the twosome, which makes the arrest even more heartbreaking.

3. He had a GoFundMe page
Katherine Angier, Meeks’ mother, started up a “Free Jeremy” page to raise funds toward his bail. On the page, Angier claimed her son was wrongfully accused and stereotyped for his tattoos. She also maintained that Meeks was on his way to work prior to the arrest and has no gang affiliations. The page raised $418 (at time of publishing in 2014), a far cry from its $25,000 goal.
4. He’s heading to Hollywood
Three weeks after leaving jail, Meeks now has a professional head shot that he posted on his Instagram account. He’s so ready for Hollywood now. Apparently he’s interested in pursuing modeling and acting opportunities, according to his agent Jim Jordan.
