RHONY: 7 Things to know about rumored new cast member Julianne Wainstein

The Real Housewives of New York will feature some new faces next season. According to a new report, the Bravo show may have just found its latest cast member in Julianne Wainstein. So who exactly is she? Here are seven things to know about the potential new RHONY star.

1. She’ll be replacing Heather Thompson

Wainstein, who the New York Post describes as a “half-Japanese beauty,” is rumored to be joining the show after the departure of Thompson, who confirmed she wouldn’t be returning to the series a few weeks ago.

2. She’s an event planner

Wainstein is also a career lady. She has a job as an event planner and according to The New York Times, once worked for the Women’s International Zionist Organization, which raises money for private schools and programs for women and the elderly in Israel.

3. She’s been married since 2008

Wainstein (formerly Forrester) is married to Michael Wainstein, the founder of Private Capital Group, who invests in various business websites and companies. Per their wedding announcement, the two got married in a lavish Jewish ceremony in the Dominican Republic.

4. She lives in Tribeca

Wainstein and her family live in the hip neighborhood of Tribeca, making her neighbors with fellow RHONY star Bethenny Frankel, not to mention plenty of celebrities like Taylor Swift and Jay Z and Beyoncé.

5. Her husband has had a past business scandal

According to the NY Post, Wainstein’s husband Michael is actually best known as a former partner to twin nightlife promoters Derek and Daniel Koch. Their partnership ended in a bitter feud two years ago, which was chronicled in local papers. Sounds like just the juicy background a reality show needs.

6. She already has connections to another RHONY cast member

Apparently, Wainstein is friends with RHONY newbie Dorinda Medley. In fact, Medley is reportedly the one who recommended Wainstein to producers of the show in the first place.

7. Her casting is already gaining approval

Apparently, some people are already approving of the choice to add Wainstein to the cast. The NY Post quotes a source as saying, “Good casting. She’s pretty. She’s fun. She parties.” Sounds like perfect Real Housewives material.
