That’s what some of his family seems to think.
Dawn Scott, twin sister of Eminem’s wife Kim Mathers, begged her famous sister and brother-in-law for help just months before she died of “an apparent heroin overdose, pending a toxicology test,” according to police, Tuesday at a trailer park in Detroit.
“I have a millionaire brother-in-law and a sister with money up the ass, but they’re refusing to give me any help,” Scott told Radar Online four months ago, as she was homeless and battling her addiction.
Scott’s on-and-off boyfriend, Les Martin, also said he pleaded with Scott’s famous family for help.
“I’ve been trying like hell to save her life,” Martin said. “I’ve had numerous conversations with Kim about trying to get her help and it just wasn’t a conversation she wanted to have.”
He continued, “She wanted to let Dawn go. I was so frustrated I was like, ‘Do you have a $10 million insurance policy on her?'”

Scott is the biological mother of Eminem’s adopted daughter, Alaina. According to Radar Online, Eminem and Scott have known each other since they were young children growing up on Detroit’s famously gritty 8 Mile Road.
When Scott spoke with Radar Online back in August, she revealed that she had been homeless since 2014, sleeping outdoors and on friends’ couches when she could, and that she had been essentially cut off by her brother-in-law.
“One night I called my sister and told her I had nowhere to go,” Scott said at the time. “She said, ‘That’s not my problem. Don’t bother me,’ and hung up.”
According to Martin, Scott fell deeper into her drug addiction after her family turned its back on her.
“Heroin, cocaine, Adderall. If it was a pill, she would take it,” he said. “Klonopin were her downfall. She was swallowing them things like candy.” [sic]
