George and Amal Clooney have finally welcomed one of the most anticipated sets of celebrity babies of all time (after Beyoncé & Jay Z’s twins, of course).

The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that George and Amal Clooney welcomed twins Ella and Alexander Clooney on Tuesday morning. The statement the Clooney’s rep released about the joyous day is as perfect as we imagine the babies are. “Ella, Alexander and Amal are all healthy, happy and doing fine,” a rep for the couple told THR. “George is sedated and should recover in a few days.”
The Clooneys were married in a star-studded ceremony in Italy back in September 2014. Following rumors of pregnancy, they confirmed in February that they were expecting twins.

George and Amal Clooney had a busy week leading up to the birth of their double-bundle of joy. According to People magazine, they got a visit from former President Barack Obama, who probably had tons of top parenting advice to offer. You know, things like:
- Embarrass your kids by being a dorky dad as often as possible
- Have either dinner or a movie for date night, because you won’t be able to stay awake for both
- Leave the world a better place for your kids, because they deserve it (though, TBH, Amal is already on this).
Other than that, though, the Clooneys have had a pretty quiet few months out of the spotlight while they were probably busy at home preparing for the arrival of two babies at once. That’s no easy job, but if there’s anyone up for it, it’s those two.
