U2’s Where The Streets Have No Name does not symbolize Manhattan. But Manhattan does represent U2 in a street: Mayor Bloomberg and the band U2 spoke at an event in midtown this week as Bloomberg briefly renamed a street in Midtown West “U2 Way.”

Here’s the deal with U2: we want to know if they’re over-hyping their new album, NoLine on the Horizon, just a bit perhaps?
They’re playing five consecutive nights on David Letterman and they’re taking Manhattan by storm. People are feverishly updating their Facebook status updates with inside scoop – like hearing the U2 concert at Fordham University for students and alums only with IDs.
Bono and U2 performed on Monday night by serenading the college audience with their new song, Breathe.
They also got their comedy game on and shoveled snow in front of the Roseland Ballroom. Funny!
U2 has been around for the ages, there’s no denying it. Frontman Bono says, “New York is a place that people come to and feel at home.” Each member of U2 received their own version of the street sign (yes, there really was one made up) “U2 Way.”
