We’d be lying if we said we didn’t like the festive season, and while there are plenty of reasons to enjoy it, delicious Christmas-inspired coffee creations may just be our favourite. And this year top coffee chains Tim Hortons, Starbucks and Second Cup have upped the ante.

Tim Hortons decided to be authentically Canadian with an extra-special cup celebrating strong, skilled women. The coffee chain’s cups depict women playing ice hockey, and this was something Canadian hockey star Mélodie Daoust was especially pleased with.
“I’m so happy to see that Tim Hortons gets it !! #girlshockey @timhortons #dreambig #newcup,” she wrote on Instagram alongside a photo of one of the cups.
Nothing like a little @TimHortons to get the day started right. We LOVE the new cup design. #hockeygirlspic.twitter.com/q3a0GgJ4WA

And this year top coffee chains Tim Hortons, Starbucks and Second Cup have outdone themselves with their festive cups.
Starbucks decided to go bold or go home when it launched its traditional bright red cup on Nov. 1, but this year it’s free from doodles and over-complicated designs. Instead it opted for an ombre effect and its logo in the centre of the cup — these will be the perfect cups for us to drink those sweet, festive nectars from, and among the seasonal flavours are a Gingerbread Latte, Caramel Brûlée Latte and a Peppermint Mocha.

Second Cup brought out the snow and depicted a small town — complete with tiny figures, an ice rink and a pretty blue-and-white colour scheme — so you can drink your Peppermint Bark Latte and Naughty Nog in serious style.
