Starbucks Has 3 New Drinks to Usher in the New Year

We’ve long come to associate changing seasons and holidays with dedicated Starbucks beverages, and the new year will be no exception.

Starbucks has launched an intriguing Black and White Mocha Collection, which includes a trio of new chocolate-rich drinks, including a hot chocolate, a Frappuccino and a mocha.

Each drink fits the black and white theme via a mix of dark and white chocolate and is then topped with whipped cream and chocolate “sequins” — as in a celebratory formal event, say, New Year’s Eve.

The Black and White Mocha is a blend of “hot espresso […] poured over dark mocha sauce and white chocolate mocha sauce, which is then melted into a wonderfully rich concoction,” according to Starbucks. “Steamed milk is added to this silky swirl of dark mocha and white chocolaty goodness to balance the richness.” That is then topped with whipped cream and shaved chocolate. The hot cocoa is basically the same, but no espresso, and the Frappuccino is, well, chill, for those of us who are into that version of the mocha.

Move quickly, though. Much like our anticipated NYE buzz, these drinks will be gone in the new year. They are available at Starbucks locations in in the U.S. and Canada right now and available while supplies last.

And much like a new year, we love that these drinks are ripe with possibilities: Whether you prefer your chocolate cold, hot or caffeinated, there’ll be an option for you. Let’s hope 2018 is as understanding.
