The two-time Wimbledon champion said on June 27 that if was able to play at Wimbledon -- as he has did on Thursday -- then he would likely retire after the Paris Olympics. Murray faced a race against time to be fit to play in his final tournament at the All England Club after undergoing a procedure to address a spinal cyst on June 22. He subsequently withdrew from his first-round singles match on Tuesday, but confirmed that he would play in the men's doubles. However, the 37-year-old's Wimbledon farewell got off to a difficult start on Thursday as he was knocked out of the men's doubles in the first round alongside his older brother, Jamie, with a 7-6 (6), 6-4 loss to Australian pair Rinky Hijikata and John Peers. Speaking after the match, Murray discussed coming to terms with the end of his playing career. "I would love to keep playing, but I can't physically. It is too tough now. All of the injuries, they've added up. ... They haven't been insignificant. But yeah, I want to play forever," Murray told the BBC. "I love the sport. It's given me so much, taught me loads of lessons over the years that I can use for the rest of my life. But yeah, I don't want to stop, so it is hard." Murray also hinted that he might be interested in taking up coaching in his post-playing career. Asked if he was a good tennis watcher, Murray said: "It depends who I'm watching. I hate watching my brother. I find it really difficult to watch my brother play. But yeah, I love tennis. I watch it all the time. I'd probably be more comfortable sitting up there in a coaching box than somewhere else." Murray is due to take to the court again this week after Wimbledon organisers announced on Wednesday that he had entered the mixed doubles draw alongside fellow Brit Emma Raducanu after the pair were given a wild-card entry. The mixed doubles competition begins on Friday. 2024 Mazda CX 90 Signature BMcAleer 2 Scaled Hyundai Alcazar Signature 2024 2023 2024 AT A GLANCE Signature 55 X 85 Academic Weekly.webp 2023 Happy New Year Elegant Design Of Paper Cut White Color 2023 Logo Numbers On Blue Background Perfect Typography For 2023 Save The Date Luxury Designs And New Year Celebration Vector Adobestock 644038109 New Year 2023 Modern Design Style 3d Typography Of 2023 Logo Free Png Trends 2023.f12bde19 New Year 2023 Modern Design Style 3d Typography Of 2023 Logo Free Png ?media Id=401156415654324 Nouvel An 2024 Avec Calligraphie Et Pinceau Bonne Annee 2024 Design Du Logo Vectoriel 2r8edp6 New Year 2023 Modern Design Style 3d Typography Of 2023 Logo Free Png 2024 Mazda Cx90 Hybride 5 Signature Ext 032 42m Depositphotos 671799182 Stock Illustration 2024 Happy New Year Logo Signature Show 2024 492A0144 2 09272022 Blog 7 Design Trends In 2023 Header 2 04 Img.php?f=3&t=2023 Typography Logo Design Concept Happy New Year Blue Vector Illustration 288306381 2023 Logo Design With Creative Unique Style For Banner Or Business Vector Shot Graphic Design Trends 2023 1 Pngtree Happy New Year 2023 In Colorful Png Image 8522560 Graphic Design Trends 2023 1*15F15PBxJLJGEx8hLDGZaw Aa74cfd9af4b6e8394620458ff3eecb7 Maximalism Graphic Design Trend Happy New Year 2023 Gold Text Effect Banner Design Template 47987 12125 Preview Graphic Design Trends 2023 D8845e8dc9acfb2ccb759e3bb2986531 Graphic Design Trends 2023 07 Creative Big Set Of 2023 Happy New Year Logo Design Number 2023 Design Template Christmas Decoration 2023 Happy New Year Symbols Vector Illustration With Gold Labels Isolated On White Background 109313 218 1*J49DIXL5jSf6I 3SRScy G Happy New Year 2023 Greeting Banner Logo Design Illustration Creative And Colorful 2023 New Year Vector 2023 Number On White Background 260nw 2101164088
