Mail a popsicle to your pal! No refrigeration necessary with these easy popsicle postcards made from foam pool noodles, cardboard and wooden craft sticks. Just add some stamps, and these summer-time treats will deliver a smile to anyone’s mailbox.
How to make popsicle postcards
Supplies:
- Foam pool noodle (any color)
- Cardboard or heavy decorative card stock
- Wooden craft sticks (found in most hobby or craft stores)
- Hot-glue gun and glue sticks
- Serrated knife
- Scissors or X-Acto knife
Directions:
Using a serrated knife, cut your foam pool noodle into 6-inch segments.
Stand each segment upright and cut off the outer rounded edges, discarding the hollow center piece.
Cut quarter-inch strips off one side of each foam piece.
(These cut sides will align to form the “twin pop.”)
With your knife, carve and round off the tips to look like a popsicle.
Place the foam shapes together on a piece of cardboard or decorative card stock and trace around them. Cut out the shape with scissors or an X-Acto knife.
Using a hot-melt glue gun, attach the sticks to the cardboard postcard.
Add more hot glue around the outer edge of the postcard and down the center.
Attach the foam popsicle twins to the postcard and hold in place until secure.
Write your message and address on the other side,
saving room for approximately $2.10 in postage stamps.
(Sizes may vary, so it’s best to have them weighed at the post office for the correct parcel price.)
