Justin Timberlake & Jessica Biel Are Starting Sex Ed With Their 2-Year-Old

Silas Timberlake, Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel‘s 2-year-old son, doesn’t have to wait until that awkward 4th-grade class to start learning sex ed. Biel says she and Timberlake prefer to teach ’em young — and why not?

“We’re using technical terms… we shower together, and [we say], ‘This is what I’ve got. This is what you’ve got.’ We just talk about it. I know it’s really young, but I really believe that if you start this early, there’s no shame,” Jessica Biel said at the 2018 Makers Conference in Los Angeles this week.

Biel and Timberlake, like so many parents, want to destigmatize the human body when talking with their son. And they hope that by starting these talks early, they’ll be able to.

“I don’t want to tell him, ‘Keep your private parts,’ and this and that,” Biel continued. “It’s a beautiful thing. You have it and mine is different and it’s cool, man. We have to respect ourselves and respect each other. So I believe it starts really young.”

Also at the Makers conference, Biel discussed a hilarious PSA video she made with comedian Chelsea Handler, encouraging women to get to know their bodies shame-free. Biel has admitted she doesn’t believe she’s an expert on sexual health; she told People she’s “still learning too” and is “always trying to have a higher sexual IQ.” Girl, aren’t we all. We’re so glad little Silas is starting that learning curve young.
