Talk about low-key chill: Rapper Macklemore and wife Tricia Davis welcomed their second child — another daughter — back in March on St. Patrick’s Day. And we’re all just hearing about it now. Slick.
How did the news get out? Macklemore told Irish radio station Spin 1038’s DJs — Nathan O’Reilly and Nick Karkazis — that he spent St. Paddy’s Day in the hospital with his wife welcoming their second-born.
Macklemore and Davis have yet to post about their new arrival on social media, but the two are all about family judging from their Instagram feeds. In honor of International Women’s Day, Macklemore (real name Ben Haggerty) posted a gorgeous photo of his wife and daughter, Sloane Ava Simone, age 2-1/2.

The caption? “Beyond lucky!” Oh, you softie, Macklemore.

Here’s the video from his interview in Ireland when he lets the news slip, saying, “To be honest, I haven’t said this publicly, cue the air horn, I spent it in the hospital with my brand-new daughter. She was born on St. Patrick’s Day.”

Reps for Macklemore have yet to confirm the birth, but Macklemore did let fans know back on Sept. 28 that he and his wife were expecting another child. He captioned that Instagram clip, “Seattle… Second time’s the charm (and yes, both announcements are true)”:

And Davis — who goes by @baba_g on Instagram — did post a very pregnant belly shot on Feb. 12, writing, “Final magical weeks. What a different experience the second time around. Less worried about everything and full confidence I can do anything. Always channeling every mother before me.”

With a gorgeous belly like that, we should have realized sooner that the new baby’s arrival would be imminent. But, yeah, sometimes we’re slow that way. Congrats to the whole beautiful family — and we’d love to know the little one’s name if you don’t mind, Macklemore.
