Yes, celebrity moms have access to personal trainers and personal chefs to help them drop their baby weight ASAP. But many celebrity moms opt for diet plans that are realistic for us “ordinary” moms. Check out these diets of the stars and why they can work for you, too.
Weight Watchers
After welcoming son David, Jennifer Hudson dropped 80 pounds with the help of Weight Watchers’ new PointsPlus system. She has been so successful with the plan that she’s now the company’s spokesperson. The PointsPlus program encourages dieters to eat a healthy balance of fruits, vegetables, protein, low-fat dairy and whole grains — and there’s no need to buy pre-packaged food. You can sign up for in-person meetings or follow the online program, which is ideal for a new mom’s busy schedule.
Jenny
Mariah Carey made headlines when she dropped her baby weight with diet program Jenny (formerly Jenny Craig) after welcoming twins Moroccan and Monroe last year. The program is great for new moms that struggle with portion control because it takes the guesswork out of dieting via a pre-packaged meal/snack plan. Members are encouraged to supplement the Jenny meals with fresh fruits and vegetables so hunger is never an issue — another plus for new moms who are learning how to just eat for one again!
The Kind Diet
Many celebrities have gone vegan or vegetarian only to abandon those beliefs during their pregnancies. Not Alicia Silverstone. The new mom wrote The Kind Diet long before son Bear Blu came along. She remains true to the vegan lifestyle, swearing it has helped her lose weight like no other diet. In her book, she breaks veganism into three stages: the first, “Flirting,” is the perfect “trial run” to see if a vegan lifestyle is right for you. Warning: this is a serious lifestyle change that can truly extend to every portion of your life. It’s a lot to handle, especially with everything else on a new mom’s plate.

Diet Supplements
Celebrity moms like Kourtney Kardashian and Kendra Wilkinson have copped to using dietary supplements like Quick Trim (Kourtney) and Ab Cuts (Kendra). A Quick Trim shake (at just 110 calories) could be an ideal snack while you’re chasing your toddler around the park or after pushing baby’s buggy in a Stroller Strides class. However, it may not stick with you long enough to serve as a meal replacement.
And be wary of diet pills, as many have not been approved by the FDA and are packed with caffeine, which could make you jittery and unfocused. Many of the ingredients found in Ab Cuts are commonly found in healthy foods, so you’re better off pocketing the $59 and taking a trip to the farmer’s market instead.
