Minnesota’s Mall of America (MOA) is the most visited attraction in Minnesota, and there’s always something new going on. But it’s no secret that the main highlight of this super-sized mall is the Nickelodeon Universe theme park located in the center.

Admission to the rides at Nickelodeon Universe can be done one of two ways — either by purchasing points which can be shared among parties, or by purchasing an all-day pass (worn as a bracelet) which can be used by only one person. If you plan to spend a full day at Mall of America, the all-day pass is the best deal.
If you’re worried about what to do with your belongings, be sure to take advantage of the lockers that are available for all-day use. You’ll find the stash of lockers near the Dora-themed Ferris wheel. These lockers operate electronically rather than by key and cost between $5-$7 per day.
Kids who relish meeting characters will be thrilled to discover that there are many meet-and-greet opportunities. Look for the posted schedule of characters in the Blue and Green Spots within Nickelodeon Universe. Dora, Diego, Boots, Spongebob, Patrick, Wonder Pets, Backyardigans and many other have been known to show up and pose for photos with kids and adults. Also, every week the mall hosts Toddler Tuesdays which makes for fun youth entertainment including concerts, shows, movies and meet-and-greets.
Nickelodeon Universe does have height restrictions on rides, and it’s important you adhere to them so you don’t disappoint your child. The good news is there are rides for all heights including the little ones!
As for grub time, Nickelodeon Universe has plenty of food options just like any amusement park. However, the massive food court isn’t too far away — simply take the elevators behind the Lego store to the third floor. The mall also has plenty of other family-friendly sit-down restaurants including Rainforest Cafe, Bubba Gump Shrimp, American Girl Bistro and tropical-themed Kokomo’s Island Cafe.
