Jon Snow may be dead, but that doesn’t mean he’s dead, dead. Especially in Game of Thrones. And this new location for Season 6 of the show might just prove that not only will he return, but that an epic fan theory is correct.

Last week, HBO announced some new locations for Season 6. Among them, the Castillo de Zafra in Guadalajara, which many have theorized will be used as the Tower of Joy, a key flashback moment in the books for many fans.
If this is the case and the castle is being used to depict the Tower of Joy, then it seems the R+L=J theory is not only correct, but it will be revealed and explored in Season 6.

In A Song of Ice and Fire, we’re told Ned Stark goes to his sister Lyanna as she’s dying at the Tower of Joy. He finds her in a bed of her own blood and asks her brother to make her an important promise, though what exactly that promise is is never revealed. But the theory suggests that Lyanna was bleeding after just giving birth to a son. A son conceived with Rhaegar Targaryen, who stole Lyanna away from her intended husband, Robert Baratheon, inciting a war. As the theory goes, before Lyanna died she asked Ned to raise her son as his own. That son? Jon Snow.
The theory also makes sense when you think about Ned’s loyalty and integrity, especially when it came to his family and his wife, Catelyn.
Screen Crush also adds that a casting call recently went out for Game of Thrones, which is looking for a “paragon of knighthood” who is a “legendary fighter.” Fans believe the show is casting the role of Ser Arthur Dayne, who guarded Lyanna at the Castle of Joy. Ned Stark regarded him as the best knight who ever lived.

Even more important than this potentially huge reveal in Season 6 is what this news indicated for the fate of Jon Snow (Kit Harington), who was maybe, possibly, probably killed at the end of Season 5.
Fans have refused to believe the beloved character is gone from the show for good and, if the R+L=J theory is correct, they might be right that he will return. Remember, there are plenty of ways for a character to come back from the dead, thanks to supernatural elements, which certain characters — like Melisandre, Thoros of Myr and more — can control. If the show had followed the Lady Stoneheart story line, it would have suggested even more than Jon Snow wasn’t gone for good.
And though Harington all but confirmed that he was dead, if the Castle of Joy and the R+L=J theory is coming into play in Season 6, you can expect that particular death is anything but permanent.
