When news broke Friday morning that White House press secretary Sean Spicer was leaving the job, the shockwaves could be felt across the internet.

Spicer’s resignation came after President Donald Trump appointed New York financier Anthony Scaramucci as his communications director, something Spicer allegedly vehemently opposed. Spicer also cited chaos in the White House when he announced his decision to leave. It’s just the latest in a string of bad news for the White House, which has been riddled with dissension since Trump took office six months ago.
A lot of us weren’t sure what to even say to that news. Good thing we have celebs to say everything for us. Their reactions truly ran the gamut, covering all our thoughts and more about this major development in the Trump presidency.
Some were on the serious side, like Jimmy Kimmel, who made this plea:
Dear @SeanSpicer Please write a book. Immediately.

Others had jokes, like Zach Braff, who can already see Spicer transitioning into a career as a reality star.

Stephen Colbert had another serious note about what a huge moment this is:
Words fail me. And they failed him, too. https://t.co/eSEG3emuLj

Oh snap! With all the trash talking about #SeanSpicer (kind of warranted) funny how he's the one who stood up to #Trump. Unlike #Sessions. https://t.co/zbfIATR89q

Some said what we were really thinking, which is that we’re not ready to give up Melissa McCarthy‘s genius impressions of Spicer on Saturday Night Live:
Sean Spicer just resigned! I hope they replace him with someone who looks like him. Cause I'm addicted to Melissa McCarthy's impression. pic.twitter.com/LIae1xfgle

And somehow, Chris Harrison turned this into another plug for the embattled upcoming season of Bachelor in Paradise:

Kate Walsh had a great idea for a replacement:
Can @melissamccarthy replace him?? https://t.co/ZCuSFF2JgB
— Kate Walsh (@katewalsh) July 21, 2017
And Samantha Ronson and Judd Apatow are already asking the important questions:
What kind of shit storm could possibly be boiling over that @seanspicer finally resigned?
— samantha ronson (@samantharonson) July 21, 2017
Will people start bailing as they should? Will anyone reclaim their integrity? https://t.co/Zuh97Ibci4

What comes next is anyone’s guess, but one thing is for sure: This much turmoil only months into the presidency doesn’t seem like it bodes well for Trump.
